Jazzon 2026 Results

This year, once again, the Jazzon Composition Award competition was held, serving as an important platform for fostering the creativity of young Slovenian musicians. The award provides financial, media, technical, and organisational support to the winning composition and its composer. A total of 16 compositions were submitted.

The winners of this year’s competition are:

1st Prize: Etude – Gal Golob

2nd Prize: In Search of Shanti – Aljoša Kavčič

3rd Prize: pro.berna – Tobija Hudnik

As the winner, Gal Golob will perform an original concert on August 19 as part of the Jazzinty Festival program.

The expert jury, consisting of Kaja Draksler, Alja Kramar, Kristijan Krajnčan, Robert Jukič, and Ana Čop, commented on the winning compositions:

“All three compositions successfully convey strong harmonic and motivic structures. They feature bold and unexpected ideas that are skillfully integrated into cohesive works, while each composition maintains a distinct artistic identity.”
